Summoning Sickness is a term for the rule that a creature can't attack if it hasn't been controlled by a player since the beginning of that player turn.


Summoning sickness doesn't stop a creature from being able to block during an opponents turn.

It does prevent creatures from using tap (Tap) abilities that can be used instead of attacking.

Most creatures have summoning sickness on the turn you put them into the battle zone.
