A Player is a person in the game.
Details[]
In the text of a card, it refers to the person participating in a game. A game of Duel Masters usually plays games with 2 players.
The start of a game is decided by the player who won the Rock-Paper-Scissors game. That players creatures would be able to attack the other player directly first, leading to the first shield break.
A creature with the effect text "This creature can't attack players." stops a creature from attacking the player (so it can't break shields) and that it also can't attack them directly (even after shields have been broken).
A card that has an effect on "Each player" refers to the active player as well as your opponent.
Although it is an informal slang term, the term of "active player" and therefore "non-active player" exists. This is commonly used in the discussion of Resolution.
- In casual play, it is possible to play a multiplayer game with three or more players. Abilities that can effect each player or how attacks can be concentrated should be addressed before the start of the game.
- Card text that says "your" (自分, Jibun) refers to your cards. Card text that says "opponent" (相手, Aite) refers to your opponents cards.
- While there are no cards to use your opponents cards and exchange control, there are a few cards such as Caribbean Moon, the Enlightened or Bluum Erkis, Flare Guardian that allow you to cast your opponent's spells.
- Egoist, Climax of "Me" refers to the physical player and controller of the card as its evolution source.
