要塞島でのデュエルに敗れ海に消えた龍牙は、世界中に残っている反ザキラ勢力を結集させたルートとマッキーに助けられていた。ザキラと戦う勝舞に、『お前は一人じゃない！』と声援を送る龍牙たち。勝舞は勇気づけられ、デュエルを愛する者すべてにデュエルマスターの証が宿ると確信する。だが、ザキラは嘲笑い、「まもなく決着がつく。お前は敗れる」と言い放つ。勝舞は返す。たとえこのデュエルに負けても、ザキラはデュエルマスターにはなれない。なぜなら、ザキラには「デュエルへの愛」がないからだ。仲間への愛、クリーチャーへの愛……それらを持たず、力だけで全てを屈伏させようとするザキラには、証を同化することは決してできない！と叫ぶ。勝舞の言葉にザキラは怒り、ついにトドメを刺そうとするが…？
